GMHTP is searching for the quickest budget-built EFI GMs out there.

It doesn’t matter what the combination or ET is; we’re considering street, street/strip, and strip-only vehicles. The only requirements are:

Big dyno and track numbers from vehicles that, for the money spent, make more power and run quicker than the average Joe’s.

Your vehicle should be presentable enough for magazine publication––no rolling POSs, please.

You are willing to explain your speed tricks to your fellow EFI enthusiasts in the article.

Your vehicle would be available for an early March photo shoot.

If you feel that your ride qualifies, please send the following to rick.jensen@primedia.com

External front/rear and engine photos of the vehicle

Scanned timeslip and/or dyno graph

Explanation of your mods

Difference in your ride’s performance over others with similar mods

Some of the free, low-buck, and high-tech tricks you’ve used for this superior performance.

The deadline is February 22!

KEWL!.. Now I need to get 2 years of dust off it.. If if ever warms up outside!

I'll see what I can do..

Rick, I'm guessing it's our pics that will be used for the magazine so is there any particular resolution, lighting, etc that works best? Any hints you can give us with our digital cameras that will make the pics turn out better? Since it's winter here there is no scenery that's worth a crap.

Kevin,

No, the pics are for me to see what kind of rides I'm dealing with.

Magazine pics would be done at a photo shoot.

As for digital photo tips: avoid noontime, shoot tripod without flash (or place camera on something sturdy and use remote), use aperature priority (AV setting), and use the highest number available, don't have the vehicle partly in the sun, part in shade, try to keep ISO low (50 or 100).

I got pic's in too but it was close. I got off work at 5pm and only had about 45 minutes of daylight left and the car is in storage 30 minutes away. Get there and it's buried behind trailers and junk and there is years of dust on it.
I gave it a quick spray of water to rinse it off and since I was losing daylight I only dried one side of the car.:) By this time the sun was already gone but there was some horizon light so I snapped as many pics as I could. After I was done it went back behind the trailers ready to collect dust again..LOL:D

I got my fingers crossed

All,

To those who have submitted budget GM entries for GMHTP, thank you!

This will be an ongoing selection process, as we got lots of great entries.

We will contact some people early, some later on.

Thanks for your patience,

Rick Jensen
