GN goes POP POP ON THE STREET!?

I was out today showing my ass....killing helpless imports....they ALL asked for some first so they got some.
Any how twice when I got on it 2 backfires happened,
one right after the other. It's not the first time it's done this
but it ONLY does it when in over drive 45-50ish and it drops back down to second,starts to build boost for1/2 second BANG BANG.
This is the only way I can duplicate this problem.
I know you're saying "well don't do that".
Could I be getting on the rev limiter? it's set at 6200.
shifts at 5400ish. Doesn't do this at the strip or a high speed run from first or in drive 55+mph to 130+
One kid looked like I had shot at him!
Aw hell I don't know.

This was at 17psi.
Thanks for any input other than calling me a dumb ass.

Car has good wires,new plugs and a nearly new coil pack.

Dont know if this has happened to anyone else but once I had my bolt come loose that holds my cam sensor.... It would jump out of the "window" of operation.I'd let off it and it would move back to where it was and run fine? Just from my experience though. Hope this helps.......
