Hey guys, I wasn't sure where to ask this stuff. I haven't been on in awhile in the site has changed a lot. I couldn't even figure out how to sign in. So, now you know my intelligence level here come the questions.

I'm picking up another '87 Grand National next week. It's a 27k mile one owner car with all kinds of options my last one didn't have. Like a digital dash, twilight I think it's called, door speakers with a much better stereo and the trunk is all finished with carpet.

Is there a place that I can research how many cars were made with what options?
Are these good options or viewed as just extra junk?
I only ask because I'll drive the car all spring and summer and most likely sell it, just what I do.
The last one I actually sold on this website to another member.

Yes, pics will be coming. I was going to go get it today but there's too much snow!!

Thanks

Sounds like a loaded up one. As far as production figures I don't think there is a breakdown like that. If someone is wanting the options it is a good thing. The trunk kit is cool. I'm not much on digital dash but others might be. Concert Sound II and twilight sentinel are nifty too. Just makes for variety even though it looks the same from the outside.

Thanks Rich, yes it seems to be loaded. I noticed the GS in your signature. Check out my buddies car, I bet you'll appreciate it!

Nice, nothing like cruising with the top down.

My car came with the fully carpeted trunk but didn't come with floor mats. Kind funny combo. It does have a lot of options but the lack of floor mats blows my mind. A friend of mine just bought a 87 GN and the previous owner covered the spid sticker with dynamat so he will never know what options the car came with originally.

My opinion/observation is that minor options don't seem to affect the value. Roof options will, and there may be a difference between fully stripped and fully loaded. Mileage and condition are king when pricing a GN.

Edit: I shouldn't say that roof options will affect the value, but there's a polarized market where half want t-tops and half don't. So the roof will take out some buyers regardless of which it is. When Iwas shopping for mine, I stopped reading the ads when it said hardtop. I was going to buy a T top 87 GN and nothing else would work at any price (I don't think that way anymore).

Yea, that's funny, the first one I bought had to have a hardtop because I had this illusion it would be some 1/4 mile killer. My new one has t-tops and I'm looking forward the roof option.
