Gn rear end

Ive been looking for an 8.5 rear for my car and came across a guy with 2. One non posi for $550 and a posi for $800. Are these reasonable prices? How much would it cost to convert the non posi to posi? I was originally going to get the posi, but could also buy the entire non posi car for $1200. The body is shot but has non posi rear end, hood, trunk, decent interior, motor(hot air) and trans

Need to know how much it costs to convert to posi, and if the $550 and $800 are reasonable

Depends which route you go you can get a factory used GN posi unit used for about $300 or new eaton unit for about $450 then about $300 for better axles if you plan on running a built motor! I have a fresh coated GN rear with a eaton 30 spline carrier and moser axles all rebuilt with new bearings and seals i am selling if you are interested this will handle a good amount of motor! 800 seems to be the going rate for these rear ends. Make sure it INCLUDES drive shaft. The two shafts are different between your rear end and the GN Posi.
