and the plot thickens.....
I finally got a copy of the police report from the Atlanta Police Dept today. Turns out there was three groups of black males fighting over my car last weekend.
The guy that was caught was friends with the original thieves and was going to get the wheels to raise money for his pregnant girlfriend. Based on the fact that he's 19 and wanted to talk, and the story seems credible, I tend to believe his statement. (that and he didn't know there was a mic in the backseat of the patrol car where he basically pleaded guilty)
I Officer C. Sendling along with Officer J. Messenger were dispatched to the area to look for a vehicle that was possible being stolen. The anonymous caller advised that the car a black buick was being pushed down the street by a couple of black males, and wa being followed by a Mazda Pick-up. The vehicle was located in the street in front of 372 Corvair Drive along with a couple of black males. We approached the males and asked what was going on. The arrestee Mr. Jones stated that his car had broken down and that the male identified as John Fletcher with a date of birth of 09/09/1954 had helped him push his car out of the middle of the street. Mr. Jones was asked if the car was registered to him and he stated no that he had borrowed the car from the owner a man by the name of Will John. The vehicle was ran on ACIC and came back stolen out of East Point. The man was then taken into custody without incident. Once Mr. Jones went on to state the car had been stolen earlier in the day out of East Point or College Park by a male known to him as only D.J. according to waht he was told by the three males Jason, Tick, and Monte that came over to his house. Mr. Jones stated that Tick, Monte, and Jason all live on teh same street as him and had came over to his house to tell him the location of the car so they he could get the tires, and rally wheels off of it, because Mr. Jones knew someone who was looking for a set of four, and they were going to split the money. Mr. Jones stated that the car was not where they had stated that they had left it at the corner of Oak Drive, and Browns Mill Road. Mr. Jonesstated that when he found the car that some other black males were pushing the car, and that he told them to get away from the car, that it belonged to his people. Mr. Jones stated that is when Mr. Fletcher as well as some black males that were in a Mazda pick-up helped him push the vehicle to the location where we located it. Mr. Jones stated that he only did because his girlfriend is pregnant and he needed the money. We were advised by ACIC that the owner of the car reported to East Point Police that he had a .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol in the trunk of the car. We did an extensive search of the car but did not locate the pistol. We did however discover a broken vent window, and a broken steering column.
The police really should use a spell checker. All the typos and errors are exactly as in the report.
This is like a soap opera gone bad. The guy under arrest right now rally needs to drop the dime on his buddies. I honestly think he was only after my rims like a parasite. I'd really like to have a talk with "Tick", "Monte", and "Jason" for a little bit and try and get ahold of the guys that busted my window, busted my steering colum, left me stranded in Atlanta and cost me all the stuff I need to live my daily life. (not to mention ****ing up my car).
I tried to get in touch with the East Point dective today to no avail. With any luck he knows this group of oxygen thieves and I'll email him so pics of my personal belongings and maybe get some other people put in jail. Not to mention get some more people on the "$100 a month for 12.5 years restitution" payroll.
I did manage to get the engine pulled yesterday and torn down. The bottom of the cam sensor gear was sheared off so that explains the 1/2" rocker clearance and dry oil filter. When my engine died, it had no oil and no water. I haven't been able to get the heads checked out yet or the block. I can't imagine they're any good. I do know the PTE-44, cam sensor, front cover, at least two rods, crankshaft, camshaft, lifters and oil cooler are shot. I can't imagine that the blocks still useable. Hopefully I can get the heads apart and checked out soon. It's looking like I might go ahead and build a 4.1 since I have to replace basically everything.
Hopefully the transmission didn't get thrown in park at speed and toast it too. The fluid was pretty red and not stinky or metallic so that might be the first good sign I've had yet.
