It's a long shot but if anyone sees an 87 with tintend windows and widend factory wheels give the East Point PD a call at 404-765-1096 attn Ofc KA smith. Case number 06-005509
The tint is faded to a purplish hue and there's a blue line sticker in the bottom left of the back window. An emplyee at the Crown Plaza called in some teens spinning out in a Black Buick with tint earlier today.
When it was stolen it had Troup co plates on it, VIN 1G4GJ117XHP463520. I've owned teh car for almost 10 years and I pretty sure the engine's the origonal. The trans came is an Eric Shirtz unit from Jack Cottons and I'm not sure if they keep serial number records.

Sorry to hear about your car. Any word on your car yet? I'm in PA, but they might take a road trip. I'll keep my eyes open up here. Good luck!!

I'm Just A Few Of Hours South Of You, But I Will Keep My Eyes Open.
If They Come This Way, They Won't Out Run Me!

Seriously, I Hope The Cops Get Them...theft Is Beyond Rude.

hay, guys they found it, but i think E, may need some help in whatever way possible ( physically or financially ) i know it may be alot but i willing to help out, i've never meet earl, but i have had my car stolen, and would have really loved to have gotten any help at all, some guys have already risen to the occasion, anyone have ideas to get this started ?

Let me know what I can do. I dont have a lot be something is better than nothing.

Earl,
Details. Did they catch anyone with it, or was it just abandoned somewhere? Condition? Any damage/missing parts?

Yes it's been found. Unfortunatly I'm buried in so much red tape they won't tell me anything.
An Atlanta officer called me yesterday at 4:30 to say the car was found the night before. He couldn't tell me what wrecker yard had my car so it took me a while to find the yard that had it. The "nice" lady that I spoke with couldn't tell me anything about the condition of the car or the inventory on the personal items. Since she won't tell me if the car's driveable I have to send another wrecker up to Atlanta to get it.
The officer waited untill I didn't have enough time to get up to Atlanta city hall and get a release form. As of 10 days ago they are no longer 24/7. So yesterday I had no way to prove the car was mine. It seems the title, my insurance card (liability), my tag receipt, my license and me weren't enough to let me have my ****.
I did manage to talk to one lady that told me that the information she had indicated that the check boxes for "engine", "wheels", and "battery" where not checked, but the "other" box was checked with my Glock being indicated as missing from the trunk. the only clue I have on the condition is that the car has "body damage" checked. At this point I don't know if the engine still runs or if the car has any frame damage from abuse. I have a feeling that even if the car is "fixable" I won't have the resourses to put it back the way I had it this past Sunday.
As of right now I still can't get to my car and the only think I know (loosly) is that the trunk's busted open, it's wrecked, the steering column is busted, and they did go in my trunk where most of my personal belongs were located. So basically I've got redtape and about $500 to get my car home. Then I'll have a stolen/recovered wreck with wheels and a battery.
There was one arrest of the driver but they wouldn't send me the police report so I don't even know who to sue of it was a minor that stole the car. Not that it will do any good. I'll just have to drive back up there, pay $65 or so and hope the POS wins the powerball.
I can't imagine what kind of engine damage the car has now. My SMC has the knob that says "boost level" on it and I'm willing to bet the thief turned that one all the way up killing my alcohol injection.

Earl

Damn dude, that sux.
Don't know if I can help from here, but if I have a spare part that you need, just ask. Does sound like they got someone, so you may be able to get some kind of retribution.
Good luck.

My brother and i was just in Lagrange working on hail damaged car, we met some black guys who just bought the cleanist GN ive seen . It came from Atanta got it form ebay for 15000 IT was T top with Kirbans GNX wheels and the engine was chrome from top to bottem. A couple days ago he called and said he blew the engine up and just put a new one in form Advance Auto. What a shame.

hay guys this is earl's pay pal account - earlbrown@mindspring.com- earls could use a hand, and whatever we could send would be of help, he may not say it but we all know he could use a hand.

carlos e :)

I've seen that car in the crappy part of town. And you're right, there's not one molecule of dirt on that thing.
I haven't met them yet but it's a shame to hear the engine's gone. I'm guessing when the Advanced Auto parts one lets go, they might be tired of it.

I did get my car back to the house today. It took 2 days of constant phone calls getting the runaround and $390 in wrecker bills to get it here.
I haven't got the engine to turn over yet and I'm not sure that it'll still run. The car seems to have been jumped a few times as the reat tires are cut from the fender lips and the air dams are ground down a little from hitting the road.
It started raining before the car got here and then got dark pretty quickly. My carport floor gets wet when there's rain so it's nearly impossible to work on stuff.

dang man. but you are one of the lucky ones that got it back. glad to hear it. but I know how you feel when someone violates your baby.

Sorry to hear about your car. I sympathize. Let us know how everything goes.

Jason

I did get it back. Unfortunatly I'm not so sure if that's a good thing. The way it was damaged and the fact I can't get in touch with the cops have made it a real bitch to find out what's wrong with it.
The starter was fried so I couldn't check the engine. Turns out the coolant was all gone due to a melted TB bypass plug. I patched up the starter last night as best as I could and then battery was dead. It seems I have a current drain to find now.
This afternoon I hook the battery back up and get one crank out of it. The car fires up and the engine is SHOT!!! I've never in my life heard an engine rattle that much and still run. Since it's blown from abuse and no coolant, I'm going to ASSuME that the block, heads, crank, rods, and pistons are shot. Which basically means I need new everything. With any luck (which I haven't found yet) my turbo is still ok.
If I'd known the engine was sounded that bad on Monday, the car would already be in pieces. I can't do that now. The guys on turbobuicks.com started a fund for me and have donated spare parts that I lost and/or donated alot of small and large sums to my paypal account. I woke up today and was amazed to find that I've almost got enough to cover my $390 worth or wrecker bills to get my car home.
There's no way I'm going to find out if my tranny and TC is undamaged untill I get an engine back in it so I'm looking to be uncertain for at least a couple months. I did manage to talk Jack Cotton into allowing me to by the next model up from the stock rebuild and I know Eric builds a good transmission. With any luck it'll still be ok.

Earl

I have a N/A crank and I think a spare set of rods/pistons to donate. I've probably got enough scrap wood to make a small crate and send it.

Earl....will check with Doug (ItsaV6) and see if he still has the HA motor he pulled from a rusted out 85 T. If he does, will give you a good rotating assy to start with.....heck, you could use the short block, just have a machinist tap the block for the oil return. Glad to see you got her back......and car thieves should be burnt at the stake IMO.

If you need a turbo, I have the old Turbonetics Cheetah that came off OG I'll let ya have. It's just sitting in my buddy's shop collecting dust. I should be home next weekend.....working in Atlanta and away from the shop at the moment.

and the plot thickens.....

I finally got a copy of the police report from the Atlanta Police Dept today. Turns out there was three groups of black males fighting over my car last weekend.

The guy that was caught was friends with the original thieves and was going to get the wheels to raise money for his pregnant girlfriend. Based on the fact that he's 19 and wanted to talk, and the story seems credible, I tend to believe his statement. (that and he didn't know there was a mic in the backseat of the patrol car where he basically pleaded guilty)

I Officer C. Sendling along with Officer J. Messenger were dispatched to the area to look for a vehicle that was possible being stolen. The anonymous caller advised that the car a black buick was being pushed down the street by a couple of black males, and wa being followed by a Mazda Pick-up. The vehicle was located in the street in front of 372 Corvair Drive along with a couple of black males. We approached the males and asked what was going on. The arrestee Mr. Jones stated that his car had broken down and that the male identified as John Fletcher with a date of birth of 09/09/1954 had helped him push his car out of the middle of the street. Mr. Jones was asked if the car was registered to him and he stated no that he had borrowed the car from the owner a man by the name of Will John. The vehicle was ran on ACIC and came back stolen out of East Point. The man was then taken into custody without incident. Once Mr. Jones went on to state the car had been stolen earlier in the day out of East Point or College Park by a male known to him as only D.J. according to waht he was told by the three males Jason, Tick, and Monte that came over to his house. Mr. Jones stated that Tick, Monte, and Jason all live on teh same street as him and had came over to his house to tell him the location of the car so they he could get the tires, and rally wheels off of it, because Mr. Jones knew someone who was looking for a set of four, and they were going to split the money. Mr. Jones stated that the car was not where they had stated that they had left it at the corner of Oak Drive, and Browns Mill Road. Mr. Jonesstated that when he found the car that some other black males were pushing the car, and that he told them to get away from the car, that it belonged to his people. Mr. Jones stated that is when Mr. Fletcher as well as some black males that were in a Mazda pick-up helped him push the vehicle to the location where we located it. Mr. Jones stated that he only did because his girlfriend is pregnant and he needed the money. We were advised by ACIC that the owner of the car reported to East Point Police that he had a .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol in the trunk of the car. We did an extensive search of the car but did not locate the pistol. We did however discover a broken vent window, and a broken steering column.

The police really should use a spell checker. All the typos and errors are exactly as in the report.
This is like a soap opera gone bad. The guy under arrest right now rally needs to drop the dime on his buddies. I honestly think he was only after my rims like a parasite. I'd really like to have a talk with "Tick", "Monte", and "Jason" for a little bit and try and get ahold of the guys that busted my window, busted my steering colum, left me stranded in Atlanta and cost me all the stuff I need to live my daily life. (not to mention ****ing up my car).

I tried to get in touch with the East Point dective today to no avail. With any luck he knows this group of oxygen thieves and I'll email him so pics of my personal belongings and maybe get some other people put in jail. Not to mention get some more people on the "$100 a month for 12.5 years restitution" payroll.

I did manage to get the engine pulled yesterday and torn down. The bottom of the cam sensor gear was sheared off so that explains the 1/2" rocker clearance and dry oil filter. When my engine died, it had no oil and no water. I haven't been able to get the heads checked out yet or the block. I can't imagine they're any good. I do know the PTE-44, cam sensor, front cover, at least two rods, crankshaft, camshaft, lifters and oil cooler are shot. I can't imagine that the blocks still useable. Hopefully I can get the heads apart and checked out soon. It's looking like I might go ahead and build a 4.1 since I have to replace basically everything.
Hopefully the transmission didn't get thrown in park at speed and toast it too. The fluid was pretty red and not stinky or metallic so that might be the first good sign I've had yet.

Sorry to hear that Earl!

I can't believe they ruined a car for a set of "rally wheels"

They shouldn't let this guy out of jail until he pays for the damage IMO!

Earl;

Sorry abot your losses. I too have had a car stolen. I will see what I can do to help you. God Bless.

Actually the 2nd thief was getting the wheels since the first *******s were done with the car. When he got there to steal the wheels, the 3rd thieves had already left with it.
Would have been nice to know the insurance info on the Mazda truck though. Some money from them for paintwork would be nice.
I doubt he even got jailtime too.
