My GN has multiple anti theft devices on it but also has LoJack Early Warning system. If the engine starts and it doesn't have my specific key chain inside the car, it'll send a signal to a satellite and ultimately call my cellphone, house phone, mom, dad and email me telling me "Hey dumbass! Someone just done stoled your car!" Well, got up at 6 today (after going to bed at 5 after a night with my friends and Jack Daniels!) for a firearms training class (even hung over I was top shooter. :::gloat::: ). Was about 30 minutes from my house at about 715am when my cellie goes off and "This is LoJack...your vehicle may have moved without your permission..." Holy toledo, pucker factor went to warp 5 and I started freakin out. Roommate wouldn't answer the phone and if I'd have gone back home to check on the car, I'd have gotten in trouble for ditching the class. I didn't want to blow the class to find my GN sittin in my parking lot still, but I didn't want to blow off the alarm call and find my GN missing after 8 hours. Finally I called Palm Beach Sheriff's Office and asked them to do a welfare check on my car...which they did...and sure enough, the car was there. I was incredibly relieved. Makes me want to add yet another security device to the car.

The experience actually turned out to be a positive one though. While talking to the PBSO deputy, he asked if I knew anyone that had a white van with blue stripes in the area. Apparantly people have been complaning of some sicko in said vehicle doing lewd and lascivious things in front of kids. Turns out, my neighbor two doors down owns a van just like that...and he's a registered sex offender already! Hopefully with the extra piece of the puzzle, the S.O. dude can catch this guy and pack him back to jail.

Yeah, boring post...but hey, thought I'd share anyway. :)

You should use those keen shooting skills on your neighbor's balls.

Glad you car's OK! :D

So did you ever find out why your alarm went off? Nice to hear it works though I need to get that installed in my car. Can I get the BSO discount too?

heres ur problem solver.....TELETRAK!!! satalight monitored 24/7, with GPS, allows u to make the phone call any time of the day and find ur cars location...if stolen u tell teletrak and they call police and give them ur cars location via gps, AND they stay on the phone with the cops updating them to ur cars location(teletrak updates location every minute). Its the first thing i bought for my car. Also lojack only works with police cars the have lojack cpu installed in their cop car.

oh ya teletrak can also unlock ur car doors for u if ur keys are locked in, or if u want to show off  and to show other people not to F with ur ride!

And what's the Teletrak cost? And I'm familiar with how the LoJack works from the police standpoint. ;)

SO??
