Hi all,
My '87 GN tranny wires going to the tranny gear indicator light bulb have both broken out of the socket and shorted out my interior dash circuit when they hit metal inside the center console. Are new tranny gear indicator bulb housing sockets still available? The original socket's metal connectors are deep inside it and hard to get at to remove the old stuck wiring pieces...cant even fit needle nose pliers in there to clear it out for possible soldering or pinching. Thanks for any suggestions! For now, I just put electrical tape over the grey and black wires to prevent dash light circuit from shorting out. Thank you!

That is noting really special I would post in the parts wanted section stating need bulb socket for console shifter light.
The console is easy to disassemble remove the shifter handle ( pull clip out and handle towards roof), remove ashtray to access two screws and remove those and the whole face plate comes up the shift into nuetral and the plastic track can be removed. If you need to further remove the whole console there are 2 screws in the compartment and 2 in the area under the face plate all 7mm.
