I always say it runs 13 flat
I always make my first pass with 12-13# boost and run mid 13's so everyone will want a piece of the T. Then I make a 12.9-13.0 pass. Then when I have some sucker hooked I turn up the boost and turn on the alky. My son (14 years old at the time) was in the stands one night at test and tune here in G'ville, has some guy baited and hooked but after my third run (I beat the guy by over a second, turned it up too high darnit) the guy welched on the bet.
A couple of years back there was a car show in High Springs FL. Rich Lassiter from the GSCA had some friend's cars there. There was this Hemi Road Runner owner who was talking smack about how no one could beat his car. If you know Rich you know what is about to happen and I think he's fun to walk a car show with. He loves to bait these guys and soon has this guy drooling over the thought of beating a V-6 for a $1000.00.
He calls me and tells me to bring my T and he will fund the run. I show up with my son, we find Rich and set up the race for after the show with this maroon. The Mopar crowd begins pooling their money to match Rich's bet.
As the show is ending we go back to where the Mopar boys were to drive to the race site and they are all gone. No good-byes even. Sheeesh.
