1st off I'm thrilled that I got a "new" GNX Dash gauge kit for my GN. It was that 9 gauge setup that was on Ebay last month if anyone remembers (and/or cares). Here's a pic from the auction....

It seems to have come with everything needed but no instructions. Most of the gauge hookups are straightforward and I'm sure if I have trouble I can get the instructions from AutoMeter so those aren't an issue.

But....
Does anyone happen to have a set of original instructions that came with these kits?
How does the trip reset knob remove from the speedometer (an extension is included that goes between the existing knob and speedo)?
Any general tips?

BTW......I have the GN High Tech article on the installation but just wanted something more in depth.

I dont know if it came with it but you might need a vss convertor from Caspers. When I bought my car it had the GNX dash however my powerlogger showed me it was reading half the mph than actual. Something to do with the signal going to the vss. Any any case good luck with the install.

It has the VSS converter. The only thing that appears missing is the trans temp sender (unless what I assume is the coolant temp sender is actually for the tranny....then, of course, I'd be missing the coolant temp sender :-).

Congrats

Have fun with the install congrats on getting the GNX dash they are a great upgrade. Wish I could afford one they sure are nice.

Looks like mine.

Do you remember how to remove the speedo trip reset knob? Mine appears to have some sort of glue in the knob hole and before I dig it out I'd like to know if it's held in with a screw or if it just gets gently pried out. I'd like to limit ham-handed damage if at all possible.;)

Well mine has the stock knob in place with a little extension glued to it with another knob. The extension goes through a hole in the bezel & then u bolt the other knob in place outside the bezel. This 1 is held in place with a tiny, tiny allen bolt, .05 I think not sure.
