i have a chance to get a low mile gnx, either 3,000 or 7,000 mile, i have heard those 2 numbers so far, for what i think is very reasonable money. i haven't had a chance to look at the car yet but i'm thinking it is what he says it is. its the son of the guy my friend bought his t-type from (for $700!)

what are the best give aways to see if its a clone? i know about the emission sticker, i'll take a 13 mil. wrench to check the botton of the heat shield make sure its 2 pieces. i'll take my kirbans book to compare the dash plates with. i heard there is a door sticker that says asc on it. i'll also get the vin and gnx # for reference, i'm just looking for easy give aways.

also what are they going for right now? i haven't seen any on e-bay or here recently.

the lateral bar below the car, the pumkin should also say gnx, but the vin number is the best way

FWIW & IMHO:
I believe that there is also a identification plate on the body cowling just above the powermaster with the GNX no stamped on it. I have heard that it is the hardest and least duplicated of all of the id tags and labels. It is on the flat cowling right about in line with the underhood light .

A 3-7K GNX in mint shape is worth over $40,000 in most markets. If this car is real and you can get it for a great price you better jump on it.

Option code T2L on the trunk sticker, as well as what they said.
Username GNX GUY could probably tell you everything there is to know, as well as verify the VIN matching the car #.

GNX signs

What is GNX number and
VIN 9th check digit + last 6 digits ( more important -- can't fake that).

To date I have information (location, GNX #, price, mileage, history for over 100 GNX's, 447 to go.

Do you know how to spot a CLONE GN vs REAL GN, is a start!

If it doesn't look like an exact Grand National with ASC modifications, it is a clone.

If it is REAL, then all the rpo codes, VIN stickers should be in place as from factory.

our link doesnt work, is that the same as the picture they show in the kirbans bok where the reproduction letters are fatter (maybe skinnier, i dn't remember which way it goes)? i'll definatly get the vin thats the best way to check i'm sure

I have never owned a GNX like Corvette Joe, so how did Joe get the list of all...

Like I stated, I have the HISTORY plus the VIN and GNX #. My collection of information is based over the past 17 years. AND I still own my Grand National from January 1988.

So if your looking for VIN & GNX number, you know where to go...

The photo was taken at GS Nationals 2004. I tried to upload the photo, but TB.com did not allow it. Oh well...

Hi,

Good question on where I got my info on the GNX's. Many folks know I was fortunate to obtain many original GNX parts,
blueprints, molds and jigs.

www.hbscomputers.com/gnxparts1

I was also lucky enough to obtain the original database containing all GNX Vins and Car numbers, mfg date, dealer number, batch number, sale date and original purchaser. I have continued to update the list as GNX's have chaged hands. Names will never be release due to privacy issues.

Be happy to answer anyones questions via email or your welcome to call me at 630-434-0255 during the day M-F.

BTW, whats the Corvette Joe Thing?

This is a sure tell sign of a real GNX. As stated only GNX's had the T2L option on the RPO sticker on the truck.

Also mentioned is "GNX" reversed embossed on the paint code tag on the Cowl.

ASC Sticker on drivers door jam.

Emission sticker with ASC on it on the A/C box under the hood.

Turbo with trap on bottom

Wheels with different offsets (front and back)

GNX badge with proper mounting plate on front grill.

Of course the numbered badge above the glove box. (See kirbans book for examples of badges purchased from the dealer and not originally on the car.

if you look hard enough you could duplicate a GNX by finding all the parts.

The most difficult items to find are

Wheels
Tires
RPO Sticker
ASC Door Jam sticker
Emmissions sticker (although I've see 2 of the for sale lately)
Cowl badge.

Numbered dash plaques are fairly easy to find from a source out of Michigan.

Did you hit the lotto Dennis? Going from a shoestring race budget in the summer to rebuilding you tranny and motor. Now your looking at a GNX! Oh to be young, single and w/o kids and resposibilities again.

haha. i'm still on the shoe string budget. doing the tranny nearly broke me, now my radiator is going out. i'll never get around to the engine...

my dad is wanting to buy the gnx and turn it for a pretty good profit, if its real and if there going for the right money. I don't want to say how much the guy is asking for it, because this if the frst place we'll try to sell it.

GNX GUY owned #375 and then sold it. Then I saw you had purchased a corvette. Z06 vette.com -- Guess nobody would know who you are -- if you were called Corvette Joe!

Maybe we should call you Z06 Guy! Nice car with New Technology hard to compare against a Buick, even if it is a GNX.

Do you own another GNX? I would have a hard time selling my car and then hanging out at TB.com

Then I recorded GNX # 375 at GS Nationals 2004 with 2,200 miles.

Check out resources page of GNX #375 video.

It is a small world in the Buick Community.

I would like to buy a GNX but I don't even drive my Grand National that much anymore so why spend money on a car I would drive even less -- if at all. I am not sure I will even bring it to GS Nationals 2005 -- May 17-21, 2005.

GNX 136 or GNX 139

Hey Joe

Could you verify this car GNX # 139 is owned by member of GNregistry WITH id of: GNX00809C.

However a dealership in chicago is advertising it for sale

It appears to be GNX # 136 ?? advertise error but the VIN is correct not the GNX number. I sent an email to Owner of GNX # 139.

The VIN IS: 1G4GJ117XHP446507 of GNX for sale, never been titled.

GNX with 60 miles for sale $75,000

12/11/2004

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/v...torace.com&dealer_id=1079328&car_id=172845573

GNX # 139 for sale with 60 miles and asking price $75,000

It appears to be typo error...

Any ideas or comments?
