Anyone got the 8 gauge GNX-style setup? Pro's and Con's?

Anyone? I'm worried about the steering wheel getting in the way of the gauges.

I have that article. Real good write-up.

I still need to talk with someone with the 8 gauge Perfromance Instruments set-up.

8 gauges

I had the avc set that was similar to the stewart warner gnx cluster. I liked it. I think anything more than 6 is over kill. Or if your car is faster than 11.50's @ 120 then you really dont have time to watch all the stuff going on in the dash through a steering wheel. Just my 2 pennies. Good luck.

boost-a-holic,
My GN is nowhere near a 11.5 sec car so I do have some time to gaze at the instruments. Trouble is I have gauges on the A-pillar, t-top, and console. Plus I have the stock LED bar gauges for rpm and mph. It takes me a minute or 2 just to find all the gauges. Any problems or "which I had gotten this option" with Performance Instruments?

I love my setup. It avoids putting gauges everywhere.

I cannot figure out how it would get in the way of the steering wheel though.

Speedo,Tach,oil press,temp,fuel level,knock sensor, boost and ammeter.

I really like the dash, like you I had gauges everywhere. They look much better and are usable, you can read boost, fuel pressure, RPM and MPH. I also have my knock sensor (lights and beeper) and the speedo is a 160 mph. I have been to car shows where the only pictures taken of the car were of the dash. The steering wheel is not a problem. I had mine done in carbon fiber. Used the guy in Sac. CA he does great work. What else can I tell you?

Conrad...

I was just skimming through the article and adding up the prices quickly in my head. I think when you get your wallet out you might have to reach right past the bills for the plastic money on that purchase.....

YIKES!!!!
