vent install

I just installed mine this summer and I have the templates laying around somewhere. Just a tip or two for the install. I used a cordless jigsaw to cut my fenders while they were still on the car, but to prevent scratching the paint i put a few layers of masking tape on the bottom of the saw guard , i think i used 4 layers of tape there. I then drew the hole to be cut on the fender with a pencil and used more tape to outline the hole on the fender. It served two purposes 1 to show the outline to cut and 2 to further protect the paint just be sure to make the tape wider then the area to be cut. I drilled 4 small holes in the corner locations of the vents as starter holes. to secure the vents use a alcohol wipe / prep pad to wipe the paint on the fender to make sure the two sided tape will stick. you could also silicone them in place but this could be messy... the only other thing i did was to put some touch up paint on the cut metal of the fenders to prevent rust from starting, just a little added perecaution good luck with the install take your time and it's easy. took me about a hour to do it taking my time.

ill check 4 u..

i'm not sure if my templates are in my car or not my car is in winter storage if I find them tomorow i'll send you a copy just need your e-mail address will look tomorow ok jamie

sorry guys

templates are still in the car im taking it out of storage on the 2nd of next month if you can hold out that long

I am planning on cutting mine tonight. I was planning on using a "thin" disc cutting wheel. do you guys think the jigsaw is a better way? I can FAX the template to anyone that needs it on Monday morning. (fax should be the best way to be sure it is to scale). Just PM me your fax #'s.

a tip or two

i used a jigsaw with a new blade just put tape on the bottom of the saw and the outline of the hole to be cut also makes a good guide to cut the fender , went through with no prob took about 45 mins to do taking my time just make a guide/ start hole with a drill and measure twice cut once. also remember to put some paint on the cut metal to prevent rust from starting..
