Ok I'm looking at a "GNX" turbo, I know that the trash trap on the exhaust housing is a dead giveaway, but I've heard that replacement GNX turbos don't have the ceramic wheel, is this true?

Second, what's a sure way to tell the ceramic wheel, I've never seen one and I'm not sure what they look like.

last, I think I already know the answer to this, but, is there really an advantage to the GNX turbo over a stocker. I know that the spool is supposed to be faster due to a smaller moment of inertia of the turbine, but running 20-22psi will there be a difference? My stocker spools as fast as I need (if not too fast), especially on the street. I assume it's no more efficent than the stock turbo above this range, but if anyone has a compressor map that would be schweet.

thanks folks.

I've heard that the Turbo Shield goes for $1000.00. You can imagine what an original Turbo would cost.

The reason I say $1000, is because a GNX owner in SoCal came on this board about 12 - 18 months ago and he had a stock GNX he wanted to mod.

Well everyone jump on him for not leaving it stock. Some where along the way the price of the shield came up.

I have not seen him on the board for quite a few months.

there was a guy on gnttype selling a stock GNX turbo for $3000. its not listed on there anymore so i guess it sold pretty quickly.
