Does an orginal GNX turbo shield have a spacer piece between the shield and the shield bracket for the two front bolts??

yes... and the spacer is welded to the turbo mounting bracket. Regards

Reason For Spacer

The spacer was used to mount the larger turbo shield on the regular production bracket. The turbo shield was made larger in the front to clear the particulate trap that was cast into the turbine side of the turbo.
