Ok, several of us(mustang driver friends) are going to Red River Race Way in Shreveport La sat. for test and tune. My basic mods are in my signature. I will be running C-116 and street tires(275/50's). I plan on making a few passes w/ the street chip(RA 93) and some w/ the RA 108. Is there a "standard" boost that the 108 was designed for , maybe 22-25 psi? What base fp do most run with this set-up(40 w/ line off now). Last question for now. How do you run the fuel pump to get all the "bad" gas out. I have the leads and hose, and know where to tie on the fuel rail. Any other non solicited advice is welcome!!!

I'm not an expert but I think you have the boost range correct (22-25) and I'd increase the fuel pressure to 42 to 44 with that kind of boost. You'll have to test the fuel pressure thing yourself. Make a pass and look at the numbers (I assume you have a scan tool). If your getting knock then up the fuel pressure.

If upping the fuel pressure does not work then reduce the boost and work you way back up. I'd start with 20 pounds of boost on the race gas just to be safe.

Don't make the mistake of racing on a street chip:

1. Not enough fueling (can you say kaboom).
2. Not enough timing to take advantage of the octane in race gas.

Ok, race chip w/ 45 lb fp(line off) and start working way up in boost watching for knock(tuning for NO knock). Thanks,,,, Ross

I hope that you are talking about drag radials. If you're trying this on regular street tires, it will be rather "interesting".

Run 24-25# with baseline FP ~42 . If I recall its a 24 degree chip WOT with a r108 so 110 is PLENTY! You may need to step the FP down, in 1# increments, as that may be a little on the rich side pending on the WOT 02 mV. Tune for 770mV... HTH

2.3 60' here you come:D (if they are radials)
You have too much power for regular radials. My car has NO PROBLEM blowing away DR's

Start with the 108 chip and leave it there. Plan on low 13's on those tires.

RA chips call for 43psi, set it there and leave it. Your 009's should have plenty of fuel for now. Concentrate on you launch technique rather than engine adjustments.

Be sure to lock up the convterter. If you have not wired a fan swtich and lockup switch yet get going

regular radials,,, it should be interesting. Now the car will spin the tires well into 2nd at half throttle. Only thing is it "feels faster" at half throtle and 10 psi than it does at 16- 17 lbs? Maybe it's pulling out timing? I'm guessing 2.0-2.2's sixty ft. Low 13's will be ok if I can trap around 107-110. Also, doesn't the 108 lock the converter.?
