Decided that after losing the cam with only ~8,000 miles on it that I'm just not going to risk hurting the motor any more with another flat tappet, so I'm going roller while the car is in storage for winter...
I've got the cam, specs: 210/206 @ .050, .510"/.510" lift. It's a Weber grind...
Now I've got to get the rest of the parts together.
What all do I need to switch from a flat tappet cam to a roller?
Lifters, pushrods, springs and retainers, good chain, and...???
Where's the best/cheapest place to get the lifters from? I work at a parts store and we can get Speed Pro stuff, can I just get them from there?
How about the rest of the parts needed? Anything that I have overlooked that I need?
I'm not sure if I'm going to get T&D's or Scorpions, I don't know enough about either to make a good decision yet, so if you've got an opinion, please share it!
I plan on running a Rollmaster, that seems to be the consensus on what to run with a roller cam.
Give me any information you have to offer, because it's likely more than I know about this subject!
