I'll be attending the Lambrecht Chevrolet dealer "time capsule" auction in Pierce, Nebraska in two weeks (Sept 28-29th)! :)
Anyone else on this board going?

Thought about it but can't, little girls birthday. Too bad as its only 6 hrs from my hometown.
From the sounds of it there will be bidders there from many countries, dunno if anything will be affordable anyway.

I looked at all the cars on that auction and have one question? The cars outside look like they were in a flood.

Don't know about any flooding but the majority of the cars spend decades in the great outdoors, under trees and sinking into the ground. Pretty heartbreaking, especially on the new cars. The other day I was perusing the web site and couldn't believe this four-door, hardtop, ermine white 1966 Chevelle with red interior. This poor car traveled less than ten miles and was left to rot. Somewhere along the way the windshield and back glass were broken/removed and the complete interior went to Hell along with the rest of the vehicle. Idiots!!

Personally I think it will be an auction frenzy. I agree its ashame many of the cars virtually have gone to pot due to improper storage. One can only imagine the value of them had they had proper storage all these years. As many of you know I have had some experience with cars that have sat for 20 plus years and sold them. I have one now that was simply parked in the early 1990s in a field.

I'm trying to figure out how there going to mesh that live auction coming up in a few weeks with the online auction bidders that are bidding now. How do they coordinate that???

I was wondering that myself and what the hell happened to those cars that were never sold to the public, never titled, and with virtually no miles why the hell they were parked out side anyways? And most of them just happened to have their windows smashed out, the strange thing is "They were in the Middle of a wide open field" How the hell did the windows get busted out on all those cars?

That is just depressing to see the foolishness on how those cars were left out side to rot... The ones that were kept "Inside" now those are a different story!

I live about 3 hours away the bad thing about the whole thing is a small town of 2-3000 no accommodation or hotel rooms unless you have a rv will not be any where to stay and I guarantee they will bring Ridiculous prices never the less will be neet to see after setting for 40 years probley engines locked up from moister gas tanks full of rust seals dried up my friend that travels the country and is a car appraiser said they would be good museum pieces cleaned up never started and put in a museum all else would not be cost effective considering the money they will bring plus shipping and tring to get running again
