Someone had recommended me a controller that WRX's use, but I forgot the name...starts with a D I think?

anyway, I've used RJCs before, worked ok. Is there anything else around that might work a bit better?

sub 100$ please.

here are some but they do not start with a "D"

Hallman MBC
Boost Logic MBC
Joe P MBC
Turbosmart MBC
TurboXS MBC
TurboLogic MBC

I have not heard anything bad so far about Hallman, however the price was a little steep for me considering the $38.00 Joe P MBC I purchased works just as well. The Hallman do look better though, I think they are billet and come in a variety of colors. I simply went with the Joe P MBC b/c it was less $$, looks to be built well, and they also sells parts and different springs If I ever decide to swap a spring.

you have a link to the joe P mbc?

I run the hallman with the remote cable. Its a great boost controller. It allows in the car adjustability without the lag of 10 ft of vac lines.

I have the TurboLogic Model TL-21 MBC. Keep the vac lines to the very minimum length and it's rock solid. I installed mine and tested it at the pre-set adjustment (not even half) and my boost shot to 22 psi before I could get out of it . Currently I have my WG set to 15 psi and the MBC set to 17 psi, works great.

those hallmans are expensive @ 120$ a piece.

Is the Joe P pretty reliable? For 38$ compared to 120, it looks to be not a bad deal if it works well.

Although the hallmans look very nice. I suppose for 80$ though, it better look more than just "very nice"...

Try a grainger valve they work great and they are cheap half turn= 1lb boost....If your gonna run a bleed and you are a cheap a$$ just buy a fish tank aquarium valve(metal) at ur local pet store..worked great on a stock daytona 2.2 turbo once it was adjusted right 15lbs all day..I dunno if id trust it on a gn with an aftermarket turbo but it works

Joe P.....over 2 years and no problems.

I've run the Joe Ps and Hallmans. There are different versions of the Joe P out now, but I've got a couple old ones that don't work anymore. The springs bind up and aggravate you. The Hallmans are very nice units and are good to at least 40 psi as run on my Talon. Despite the higher price I have one in the race car and just put another in the street/strip truck. I had one on my EVO as well and sold it with the car like a jackass. Forced Performance sells them for $105, I get them there. The Hallman and Joe P are very widely used in the DSM world, can't really go wrong with either unit.

Thanks for all the help.

For something that controls a pretty vital part of my car, I think I might spend the few extra bucks on get the hallman.
