Good Friend and Buick MENTOR goin under knife today

I dont know if Dave would want me to tell this .However Im goin to.David Day (D-Day) had a little stumble last week and is sceduled for a heart cath today.He may have a stent put in they dont know yet.However I just wanted everyone to keep him in your Prayers and think of him as I know first hand it is a very stresfull feeling.David is the one for me that taught me patiently about Turbo Buicks and I know we all have someone like this.We have grown to have a great friendship even though we are six hrs apart.I for one beleive Prayer works that is why I posted this.Thanks

Called the hospital,Hes getting off the operating table now .they did an angioplasti and installed a stent.Doc said at the moment he is doin fine and he will have him call me collect later tonite Figures!

I talked to his daughter a few hours ago. She said he is doing good but will have to go back next week for another stint.

Dave, best of luck with your procedure. My dad just had open heart surgery 3 weeks ago but he's 70 and recovering fine. Take your time resting and get back to normal soon.

He's in good hands, that hospital is the same one that did my ball-ectomy after I had the bicycle accident.

DDay update

First, David and I and all of our family wish to thank you all for your prayers. He got to see the first post before we left for the hospital yesterday morning. It really touched him deeply. Two of the three major arteries feeding the heart are blocked -- one is 95 percent and the other 90. The worse blockeage was stinted yesterday morning taking over two hours as it was in a bad spot. Because his blood pressure began to drop dramatically, the second stint was postponed. There was a bit of trouble getting the bleeding stopped at the incision site. David's blood pressure continued to drop throughout the evening until about midnight when it fell to 60/40. He turned ghostly white, cold and clammy and began to vomit. At that time they tried to move him to ICU but no beds were available. The critical care physician came to him. They tried several different medications in his IV. Finally, Dopamine was added with slow but steady progress. He was in very bad shape and quite weak but continued to improve throughout the morning hours. About 4 am he regained an acceptable pressure and was given something to put him to sleep. They are not yet sure what caused all of this but contend that it may have been caused by a reaction between his blood pressure medicine and the dye used in the cath. We got him out of bed about 6 pm today and walked him down the hall. He began to feel much better. The other stint is going to be inserted tomorrow sometime. He will be in the hospital until at least Thursday and will be off work for at least two weeks. Please continue to pray for him as he has a long way to go yet. Bobby, you and your family are very dear to him as are many others who enjoy this sport. God bless you all!!

Talked to Kym today,Davids had a rough week,He had to have 4 stints installed today and they found a torn artery.looks like I jumped the gun.thanks for keeping us posted Kym.Hope to talk to him soon but I hate to make him laugh to hard to fast.He will be on his way to recovery soon.I love that man (but Not in a homosexual way)

*Torn Artery*?, he's extrememly lucky they found that. Internal Hemoraging can quickly generate all sorts of serious complications.

I have faith though ... he's been through tornados, getting stuck on train tracks, rooming with Dwight, and huge big rig smokey burnouts ... this should just be a momentary setback!

Hey, Im home guys!!!!! Little weak but will be ready for a good burnout and a good1/4 mile pass next year. I really want to thank Bobby, I dont know how he did it but I was on the table in the operating room, when the x-ray tech says , do you know someone from Dayton Ohio??? I reply , never been there!!!Hang up now!!! Just kidding Bob!! Glad you all thought of me, prayer was needed, I was close to a gonner!!!
