It has also been observed experimentally with regard to particle physics and is even used by GPS to provide accurate location calculations. Here's a disturbing scenario to ponder as you sip your 3rd beverage on this glorious Friday.. a few 20 year olds are hanging out together, 1 of em says hey I'm leaving earth for awhile on a wizz bang space craft traveling at close to speed of light thru space, be back in a few years.. when he returns he meets back up with those same friends & they're 65 years old.. he's only 25 WTF?? If u can explain this like I'm 4 years old, please do.

Waaayyy to difficult. The other 4 year olds never understood what I was doing when I took a big hit.
I had a similar experience. I drove my Turbo Buick like I stole it for 25 years and now I'm old. HEY! You woulda benefited from a few tours of space travel duty there Charlie Boy
Let's face it you were old as soon as you started looking at a "buick"I had a similar experience. I drove my Turbo Buick like I stole it for 25 years and now I'm old.
How can I go back?
Time to pop open a beer and ponder this (or something else).
Happy Friday.![]()
Gonna start calling you Dale, my mensa buddy.. I mean that's all good and crazy shit but even though you were slowing down time, you were doing it for 45 years after all said and done.. thats what gives me a popsicle headacheThis is based in Einstein's theory of special relativity. Simply stated, as your velocity increases, the time you experience is slower than the proper time if you were at rest and not moving.
At every day velocities the effect is virtually immeasurable. As you approach the speed of light, your time slows. You have to be very near the speed of light to get a significant effect.
The other piece of this is that the speed of light is constant everywhere.
The equation below is a solution to the effect. t0 is the proper time and t is the moving observer time, or in this case the kid in the space ship.
c is the speed of light and v is your velocity. You can see if v = 0, then t = t0. As v increases, the denominator gets smaller which shows that t begins to get slower (time interval is longer) than t0.
