does anyone know where is best place to get a computer chip to get better per and mpg?

I like Bob Bailey's chip. If you get it with lean cruise, you can get some pretty good mpg numbers.

Either chip is great
But do a full tuneup and cleaning
Last but not least. Put a block of wood under the gas pedal :D

the only was I could get good gas milage with one would be to disconnect the turbo the temptation is just to great LOL !

I computed with mine back in 2008-2010 120 miles a day five days a week (except winter and rain ) I never got much over 19 mpg always drove 75-85 mph on hwy in town about 15-16 mpg.

Does anyone know what chip I have? Its got delco cmw jt8(b) af 4 0 /p on it plastic case on it has RN on it.. ,and where it goes in computer it has RN on it

I daily drive mine and I swear my mileage has gone up since my header cracked since it takes forever to build boost I don't even try. (can't afford to have the car down until my new headers get here)

I read everywhere mpg's in the teens? I could understand it if you're into boost all of the time. You guys should be doing much better? Maybe my car is a freak of nature?
On the HRPT in 2012 I averaged 29-30 mpg in my GN. That is running 60-65mph with the AC on. TT chip, 50lb inj 54Turbo stretch IC etc.

I've calculated 19 mpg mixed(city and some highway) with the ac on the whole time.

get a vacuum gauge mounted where you can easily see it while you are driving around... teach yourself to drive in such a way that the needle stays as steady and with as nigh of a vacuum reading as possible... it will twitch every time your foot twitches, so making that needle steady means that your foot is steady, which means the ecm doesn't have to keep adding fuel and pulling timing because it thinks you want to play, which means less gas used... should be worth a couple of miles per gallon all by itself...

but, yeah, also get a TurboTweak chip, if only for the smoother idle and better driveability.

Must be nice David!

I dunno.

I sort of don't expect good fuel economy from a beast like a Grand National.
And when I get decent mpg - It means I'm being a nancy boy and not really having too much fun.
Stopping for gas can be fun - it usually means answering for the 5000th time - "Is that a Grand National" :D

Performance & Good fuel economy are almost mutually exclusive.
I know, I know...ecoboost, and all the other fancy things out there on the newer cars it can be had.
I mean - for our cars.
Which by the way - in their day - weren't half bad for performance and fuel economy.
Considering.

If I had to chose - I chose performance.
I have my Prius for the other thing.
The Buick is "Not Eco-Friendly" :p

Or just use the cruise control.

D

It's not hard to do just stay out of the turbo and the cruise control does help a lot. Of course this is on long trips I don't want to be a "nancy boy" o_O

With the TE63 and the FAST on now I may do even better? :p

Stock engine- factory chip I've gotten at least 23 mpg or better( US gal) highway.

I would expect a lean cruise chip to at least match that.
