ok.. im still new with the turbo buicks and i see brf tranny every so offten.. what does brf stand for?

wonder how u can tell if u have this brf thingamajig...

says right on the side of the tranny it will be a yellow tag that says BRF its on the passenger side of the tranny near the tail.

If it does not have the tag, the 1-2 servo cover will have a part number that ends in 94. The valve body will have "BR1" "BR2" or "BR3" in white or yellow paint printed on the side. Other ways to tell also. BRF is just the designation for the unit for an 86-87 Buick 3.8L SFI turbo charged vehicle to keep it simple.

The "B" is Buick. The "RF" I assume would be a calibration designation specific to turbo buicks. The tags were blue in 86', yellow in 87'
