I was stopped at a light when the temp. gauge just jumped to 200 degrees so right there in the left lane in the middle of traffic I turned the car off and sat for about 10- 15 minutes.
After the temp got back down to about 195, I then turned the car on and moved to the side of the road. I check the radiator and it’s empty so I go in the trunk and I don’t have any water. I had to walk two blocks to a store and buy a gallon. I poured the water into the radiator and it just empties right out.
So now I sit there for about an hour in 100 degree weather waiting for the engine to cool down. Finally the temp gets down to about 180 and now I am trying to get home in heavy traffic with very little water in the engine and in 100 degree weather.
I wait for traffic to start moving I jump in and go. So now I am picking up speed and turning off the car and coasting to the red lights. Lucky for me I got home and the temps never got above 200 again.
And this is what I found when I pulled the radiator and fan.
