Got my carb.!!

Well I got my carberator. $315 Rebuilt, found in arizona, shipped in one day(advatages of working at a car dealer ) I put the carb on, and my car is running............but its running like sh!t. It doesnt idle, and when hold the gas to keep idle, it has a fast pace putt putt putt putt putt putt sound to it? and it shakes a lot! Also when it did idle, it would die instantly when I would put it into gear. I have some vacuums hooked up, but not all. Could the vacuums be the whole problem? If not, what could it be? Thanks in advance!

What's the number of the carb? Is it a 17083244?

Yes, a vacuum leak will cause what you are describing.

Yea, that should be the number on it. When you gave me the number the first time I wrote it down and gave it to the parts guy so he can order it for me. Im sure its the right one.............
