Ok,
I recruit for the military, a certain medical specialty and I won't say what for my safety! I had a person that I have been working since Sep, never thought this person would have a chance in HE double Hockey sticks of gettin in, but we tried anyway. This person had some issues in the past and was actually cleared! In the meantime of gettin cleared, this person decided to join another branch:eek: I notified my boss and my boss said to tell this person to press on with pride! I later found out this person was cleared resold them and started doing the long trail of paperwork that's required to put them in. I suck at paperwork by the way! Anyway, I have this person who is now living and working in another city visit a local recruiter to sign their package and all of a sudden this person doesn't want to work with me because I am unproffesional, have no intergrity, and I don't put service before myself and strive for excellence in all I do! OK, I hate to hear that, and I really wish I could have met your standard so I hope you have better luck with your new recruiter:rolleyes: After all of this my supervisor decides that I am the bad guy because I did in fact drop the ball by not adding this person to a list that would cause this person not to possibly get out of town when wanted. I admit I dropped the ball, but it was still totally salvageable. To make a long story short I got screamed at and told that I am a sorry no good blah, blah, blah:mad: Here is the funny part!
I did care about the person that I was working, until this person called and told my higher authorities that I said it would be impossible for this person to join now because I will not be the recruiter! How stupid is that?????? So, after I heard this false statement I think it's pretty funny:biggrin: Oh yeah, I have a goal of 3 this year and I already have 5 signed up so you think it wouldn't matter as much! This whole thing is a trip!!!!!!!! What do you think? Give me your 2 cents!!!!

Dude this is why I'm not in the Air Force anymore...Because cleaning bathrooms became more important than fixing jets.

Dude I did 4 and out...So much happier now.

I'm glad I did it, but it wasn't a career for me...My grandfather was AF, and my uncle was Army, but the military just ain't the same as it was back then.

Got alot of sympathy for recruiters. I did my 3 years of "hero to zero" each month. Now they are prospecting my son! At least you met goal, don't let it bother you, for every 1 dirtbag, their are several good people that appriciate the opportunity to serve and the guidance a recruiter gives them along their journey.

Thanks

It doesn't bother me much, I have put in around 160 people in my career, but this one was one of the worst. As for my boss I can say this supervisor is definetly the worst in my lifetime!!!!

Good luck with your son!

I quit after 23+ yrs, commander asked why is told him BS is getting to bad, shouldnt have to play politics to get promoted should be based on performance.

Dude, wait til you try in corporate america. I hope you retired and are laughing at the rest of us working stiffs.

dont worry about it. alot of those dummies that come in have no clue what theyre doing. he probaly wont make it past 3 weeks in basic. but, just because you met goal, doesnt mean anything in the cutthroat world of recruiting. i was going to be one myself, until i saw old friends, either poaching, or stabbing their friends in the back, just to keep their jobs. its pathetic. the airforce on the other hand, just DROPPED 50,000 people cuz theyre OVERstrength lol. I was like WOW. I was talkin to an air force recruiter myself, thinking of switching over. he said he never has to leave his office. NO air force recruiter has to work hard at all i guess. i think you need to switch over lol. they get treated soo much better too.

Yeah no kidding, its rediculous at how people are promoted over harder workers...better yet, unions jobs are even worse. Been in both environments, its all politics and who ya know...thats why I went out on my own...but still find myself in the middle of it again being a vendor...Verizon buying MCI..the guppie swallowed the whale on that one and its rampid.

I changed jobs last year and went back to working in a "Large" corporate environment. The last seven or so years I had worked for family in a small enviromnment but it lacked benefits and retirement so I thought I might as well get some benefits as the wife and I aren't getting any younger.

I am suprised how fast they seem to make management changes. What have you done for me lately has changed to what happened yesterday and how much profit can you generate right now. Not next week, month, year, RIGHT NOW, with very little thought for tommorrow, or any future. Crazy and we wonder why it all is going elsewhere. No one I know would willingly sign on for this type treatment. Too bad I need the money.

Funny you should mention that... Just read an article in Information Week...I'm in the Computer IT industry..and it was saying exactly that... systems are being designed for immediate payback and not for the long range plans..those same systems then become obsolete in a matter of 1-2 years. We have been getting slammed lately by Customers not wanting to pay for Architecture and Design of systems for long range goals ourselves...seems like all of them now want the "whammy jammy" approach of "make it do this right now, I don't care about next year's needs at this point".... And of course this mentality makes sending it over to India a bargain cause you're paying for coding with no design...sorry, but the folks overseas have no idea how to design something from the ground up and factor in all the business rules....been there done that working with many of them throughout the last 10 years...
