Got Stopped tonight by PD

I was just driving minding my own buisness in this 1 horse fram town & the man pulled me over.
The ticket does not look like a money one, but on it there is an area that said WARNING for equipment violation.
There is all types of check box areas for lamp, mirrors,signals,horn,etc,etc (you get the idea)
But he did not check off muffler???????

It states I have to mail it or bring it back to PD in person once the equipment is fixed?? they give 5 friging days!

I have my son out in the garage taking that stupid cherry bomb muffler he installed this summer & put the new muffler i had one on it.

Has anyone ever had one of these?

A fixit ticket?.
Yes.
All I've had to do is fix what was wrong, and get it signed off.

With it being called a warning, instead of having items checked off, it seems like he was giving you a break. I'd call the PD and be sure to get clear on if, and what they want fixed. And if you need to appear somewhere. A no-show is $$$.

From what you've said, he stopped you for noise, and just warned you it was too loud. It sounds thou, like you're not really clear on the terms of the warning, and that you need to call the PD to do so.

Just got one for my truck - Expired inspection.(Lazyness)
Got it done the same day and went to the station for the proof. You may want to either drive the car for "proof of repair", or take some pics of whatever they say you need to fix.

Here in Houston, there are "turn around" roads under the freeway. The police will just stand under the freeway and start pulling cars over and write tickets. Entrapment? (Not sure what the definition is but with an EXPENSIVE lawyer, I bet I could argue that in court)

It is no big deal and as stated: You got a break. Maybe you got a warning Partially becasue they could not measure and cite your noise level as compared to the standard. (??) Either way. make SURE you fix and show up, or they will take the next action" Court and $$$!

He did you a favor! You spent good money to put on a decent muffler and your hotrod son turned around and put that awful cherrybomb on. It sounds like sheeet with a 4 cyl. At least now I will be able to ride around with ya and not get a headache. I might get killed though but that's another issue :biggrin:
