I have done several searches and have not found the info I need. I am looking for detailed instructions for the set screw modification w/pictures if possible.

I havent had any problems with the spring flying out yet but I do experience WOT shift points being a few hundred RPM too high. I figure the set screw will not only prevent the spring from coming out but should also lower my shift points due to the increased weight.

TIA

Set Screw

If there is already a hole through the lighter governor weight just run a 6/32 tap through it and use a 6/32 set screw. I use one 3/8" long and it lowers my shift point about 300 rpm--a 1/4" is long enough.

If there is just a dimple in the weight use a 7/64 drill to make the dimple a hole and then follow above steps. Be sure to use locktite, I use red--the 271.

Don't know why your search missed this as a lot has been written but sometimes I have the same search problems.

Perfect, that is exactly the info I needed, thanks a bunch to you all.

Bruce, I would take you up on that offer but I have a feeling I will be doing it a few times to get these shifts where I want them.
