Governor gear colors

Can someone tell me what the different colors mean? Red,orange,green? 200r4

Green - 10 teeth
Orange - 11 teeth
Red - 12 teeth
White - 13 teeth

Different gear ratios and or tire height speed correction

There are 2 sets of gears on it one is at the top the lower set runs the speedo. I have the correct speedo gear I just want to know if the upper portions are different?

those are the drive gears and affect the governer speed
, to make small changes for the speedometer correction you need to change the driven gear thats in the end of the speedometer bullet

I do have the new one for 28" tall tires. The one in the bullet has a metal shaft the replacement is plastic. That should be ok?

The different colors are to adjust the speedometer only, they have nothing to do with the function of the governor as they all spin the governor at the same speed. Here is a good reference to figure things out

Thanks Dave. I appreciate that. One more question. The spring on the governor should effect the shift? heavy spring late shift (6000) lighter spring early shift (5600) the numbers are a guess but you get what I mean. Is that correct?

Other way around on the gov. springs. Light would shift later.
