Governor spring?

Just joined so excuse my ignorence, I have read a few threads and have noticed that Bruce suggests removing the spring on the primary weight, just curious why and what it does? Thanx, Mark

It will make the 2-1 kickdown cleaner, and earlier. If you really have to know how it does this , call, I am not typing this. LOLOL
