I've read that article before, it makes it seem like if you build on the looser side you'll be ok as long as you run the right oil.

Does it apply to these buick motors, I don't know. But I'm in a position I might need to build my motor myself, my piggy bank isn't growing at fast enough rate lol

well clearances is a delicate balance...... to tight and the bearings fail due to too much heat/friction without enough oil flow to keep them cool.

Too loose of clearances at low rpm/ low volume with starve them of oil to keep the crank a float.

Like the article states oil viscosity is the major key.
