Do the fan/fuel pump share a common ground? Both of mine have stopped working for some reason, even with the caspers hi/lo fan switch. I have replaced all of the relays with known good ones.

When you try to switch the fan on manually it kills the engine.

Most all the engine grounds terminate at the rear of the passenger-side head. Also, check for good connection at the ground straps to the firewall above the coil pack.
You should also have constant power at the fuel pump relay at the red wire from the starter fuseable link.
I'd take the Caspers switch out of the mix during troubleshooting, just MHO to make things easier.

Good luck and keep us informed on the fix...

i dont have a red wire at my relay from the starter...is this something that I add? If so...what do I tap into?

The fan is a seperate ground from the fuel pump as I have left this off before and the fan did not run but the fuel pump still did.

I figured out my pump problem...and I had the fans working for about a day. Now when I flip my caspers switch the engine dies right out....and if I plug the low speed relay in, the engine dies out...almost like a short. I've checked the wiring and it looks good, and the fan works fine when jumped to the battery.

does this sound like a bad relay? Ive tried four different relays I had laying around and they all did the same thing...The delay relay is removed.
