HAS ANYONE SEEN 1250 HP FROM A GT42-76
OR IS IT MORE LIKE 1050 HP
LIKE IN CALS CAR:confused:

A GT42 will not make 1250HP IMO.
Precision rates it at a max of 1100.
Since this is a non Garrett offering that is the best guess.

FYI: We made 925HP each with the 74MM Version with a little more left.
Garrett rates it at 1000HP

john is the gt42-76
the highest rated 76mm turbo:confused:
do you rember what ex/ar you were running
on that 74mm

Im not sure about measured horsepower on them Bill.
But I have seen one run 8.80 in the 154 range in a GN weighing around 3400.
Maybe someone can calculate the HP it made

no Idea how accurate

but here what one calculator says:

Horsepower Calculator
Input:
Total Car Weight (with driver): 3400
E/T (quarter mile elapsed time): 8.80
Trap Speed (MPH at end of quarter mile): 154

Output:

Trap Speed Method: approx. 969 HP
ET Method: approx. 986 HP

Those sound like RWHP not FWHP numbers
But im not positive on that

I am sure you can get a custom turbo that will make more power
than an off the self GT42. I would look into an extended tip unit
if you need every last hp. They could also sleeve the inlet or cut down a
bigger wheel

Otto,

Drive train loss is about 15% with an automatic.
I am pretty sure a GT42/76 did not make 1133HP on a Buick V-6.
