GT61 Turbo

is anybody running the new GT61 turbo? What is the difference between the TE61 and the GT61. I 've heard the GT series just spools faster.

PT61 and GT61 are the same exact turbo...just different names...TE61 is an older turbo which doesn't make as much power or isn't as efficient...

The GT compressor wheels generate a cooler charge than the old style TE61 wheels...so at say 24#, the charge temp will be cooler than 24# generated from the old wheels...hance more power and more efficient.

What about at levels of 28-35lbs?

I would think you'd want a bigger turbo than a 61 for those levels, like the GT67 or bigger, but I don't see why they wouldn't be a little cooler at those levels if they are more efficient at the lower levels. I've never ran at those boost levels and don't plan to so someone else would be more qualified to answer that than I.

thanks for the input guys. It sounds like the GT61 is the way to go for me. Anybody know who has the best deal going on the GT61 right now? I would like to have a limit engineering turbo in a .63 garret housing with the heavy duty actuator. If Craig makes it.
