I have been researching the the ta61, now thinking about a gt6157. Will it go 10's with my set up injectors a Walbro 340m etc....Do you have to boost the hell out of it.

If your goals are 10s with your existing combination I would look into
the new billet wheel 62 from Precision. You should consider a BB unit with a larger turbine wheel. The /62 or /65 should work with the BB.
I think the 57 is going to choke you off if you try and push that turbo too hard.
I dont believe your 50# injectors are enough to get into the 10s with any turbo, I also wouldnt trust one in take fuel pump to go into the 10s either.
not saying its never been done but its risky IMHO.

Good point about the injectors, for some reason I thought there was an alky kit.
With a dual nozzle kit the 50 could get you 10s.
However I would consider the 60s for safety.
john would a single nozzle w/50,s work w/6262pte looking to go that route maybe 25 to27lbs boost. not concerned w/ going 10,s more street duty w/pro torque 9"billet 3200 l/u one of chris,s at ck performance
I think you could make that work with the alky supplementing fuel supply.
I can tell you that 50s with an old school PT64E (66 Compressor Wheel) with NO alky was going lean on Ed Valvo's car.
@ 3700lbs the 50lbs injectors should get you into the low 11s.
With the alky high 10s would be possible.
Personally I would buy enough injector for your goal just in case you run out of alky or have another issue. But then again just because your turbo can go 10s does not mean you will have to run it that hard. Your fuel system could be just fine at 20-24psi. I have not seen any dyno numbers with the 62 billet wheel yet so I am not sure where you would be running out of fuel up top, maybe Cal or Mike could comment?
mzunio, your 49 will go into the tens so i would think the 61 will.these new billet wheels do look like they have potential though.no matter what you choose, try not to break it this stuff is not getting any younger.
Thanks to all who responded:biggrin: I still want more out of the TA49 starting to get it dialed in. I have heard tens are possible but not likely. I'll keep you posted
