Anyone have experience withthe new hpq turbo??? Sold my gtq to get an hpq. Just wondering what differences to expect. Loved the spool up of the gtq. Both turbos are ball bearing. thanks, dave
 
No offense Dave, but i don't think your gonna see any difference. you were no where close to maxing out your last turbo to see a difference in this one unless you have not updated your signature. That turbo you sold was capable of low 9's. looks like you have good stuff in your car, just needs to be tweaked.

Thanks, just wondering if there's a down side to this new turbo. I would think I gotta pick up something. Patrick any opinion???? Btw, why did precision quit making the buick water line kit???
 
I was told the GTQ and HPQ made similar Peak power, with the HPQ making more HP power at lower RPM.
BTW, I'm currently running a 70BBHPQ at 21PSI and am very happy with it.

Thanks for the input Dan. This stroker is pretty torqey to begin with, so maybe this will make it even stronger!! I'm looking for easy high 9's, without really maxing it out.
 
d90Dan, could you enlighten us on your combo so that i can start drulling over what might be to come for myself. ET's?

Years of $$$ and trial/error. LOTS of help from the local guys, not so local guys and especially Nick M.

So far 9.6 @ 140 20psi and 21 timing at 11.0 a/f. Time in my sig at 21psi. EGTS peak ~1300. High 1.3 sixty's. Car runs real consistent 9.5's back to back. Last 5 runs were within a 0.01. Plan is to piss off the local Big Blocks that think a little V6 turbo car can't bracket race ;)

Also finally put on some decent rear brakes, so I may turn it up a little this weekend :cool:
 
I've had both on my car but did not see any difference. I'm not at those turbo's limits yet, so that may be why.
