I just got a set of gta style wheels, 2 fronts and 2 rears off a 80’s T/a. What rims do you guys run up front and what goes out back. All four fit fine right now but the rear tires are 225/60/16 and they have about 1/8 inch of space away from the frame rail and I need to run a wider tire at least 245/50/16. Do you guys run spacers if so what size? Could I put the fronts in the rear and the rears + spacers up front? Has anyone tried this? What do you guys do? I have and 87 turbo T

rears in front with a spacer. With big brakes, you can rears infront without a spacer.

Rears in back rub the frame and need a pretty big spacer.

spacers

ok but what size spacers do you run up front with the rears? are they safe?

You may need as much as 9/16" of spacers to run the rear GTAs on the front of your car. At the very least, you'll need to upgrade to 2" lug studs. I'd get two more front GTAs for the front. On the rear, with 2" studs again, a 7/16" spacer will set the wheel out nicely with 255 50 16s. I run four front IROCs all around. They have the same offset as the GTAs.

actually, IROCS aren't offset exactly the same as GTA rims.
i found that out on my 71 Nova when i went from IROCS with 245/50/16 tires on them, that rubbed a bit on all 4 corners on the inside of the tire- the fronts rubbed the inner fender at almost full lock, and the rears rubbed on the inside when the rear axle got twisted at funky angles- like steep driveway approaches and what not.. put the GTA rims on, with the same size tires (but not the SAME tires..), and didn't have any rub issues at all.
granted, this was on a Nova and not a Regal, but just shows that even tho the rims are "supposed" to be the same, they aren't necessarily the same.
and didn't IROC's get some thin wheel spacers from the factory on the back?
get the rims, put them on your car, and see what you need to make them fit right. my Regal might be put together a little bit different than your Regal, and my rims might be slightly different than your identical rims.

I have b-car spindles & 12" diameter rotors on front and Baer disk brakes on rear. Run GTA fronts on rear and GTA rears on front. No rubbing! I think I have 245-40-16 Goodyear GS-C tires all way around.
