Guage pointer removal

Anybody know how to remove the pointers(needles) on the in-dash guages? The last owner put on some guage overlays and I'm trying to get them off but can't without removing the pointers. Tried pulling them straight off but seem to be on there pretty good and don't want to break anything.

Also what tag/plate should be on the top of the intercooler on these cars? Just the normal Garrett one?

On the plate issue.. dunno. Mine has the numbers washed off. If you find a source for them, post.. i'd love to get a spare one.
