I also have the ATR exhaust and I agree that it's better to spend a little extra so you will only have to buy once. But to run fast at the track requires loosening one bolt and taking the other out completely, opening up the exhaust. It's a free mod and not really suited for the street but it's still $700 knocked off the price of modding.

Wouldn't you consider the valve springs maintenance since if they weren't worn out you wouldn't get any performance gain from replacing them? I understand it's money spent either way. It's just that if you start out with a low mileage car and only add modifications and don't have to worry about worn out stuff you can go fast really cheap.

My dad's car was mint and it went 14.0 and could've gone 13s if it wasn't 100 degrees that day for ~$200 in modifications.

Dan - I was talking about Jay at Turbomotion...

His number is here if you search for it

Look up TT276stg2 - thats his nickname in here. His phone number should be under a
search of any posts he has made in the past.

Anyone else can chime in here with the correct info if possible....

Anyone heard from Jay lately ??

Cool84

Hey Cool84, what kinda turbo and intake are you running with that Ford FM IC?

COOL 84........YOU MUST HAVE GOT A DEAL AT 840 BUCKS FOR THAT INTERCOOLER. I WOULD TAKE ONE FOR THAT RIGHT NOW........FEED ME!!!!!!!!!

I think I paid just over $800 for the Spearco kit new in 1996. I have just over $300 invested in the Ford intercooler including plumbing and hoses.

I'm running a TA64 turbo soon to be upgraded to a TE64. It was a little laggy with a 2700 stall convertor but with the 4.1, 8.5:1 compression, ported heads, and 3,000 stall it should spool ok hopefully. I ported my own intake and gutted out the inside. I have no idea how it flows or if it helped or hurt performance. I'll have the TM unit one day.

Is your throttle body still before the turbo and do you have any surging or lagging?

TB is after the turbo, with a silicone hose coupling it to the intake manifold. My car was nearly undrivable before and I prayed moving the TB would work which it did. It was like a night and day difference.

Very informative info, your willingness to share info is appreciated. Whish all on this board were as open. Anyway I am assuming you used the Spearco adapter to have something to clamp the silican hose to. My email is kysard55@suscom.net. If you have any pictures.
