well-
i had a chrome front bumper with the export brace, the export brace is 2 steel attachments from the bumper to the impact struts and a thin ole flimsy piece of metal across the length of the bumper- weighs 33.5 LBS
so i tore apart the bumper and got rid of the bumperette's and the long metal piece, and left the 2 steel attachments-
i weighed the 2 steel attachments and they were right at 6.5 lbs, since the stock front ALUMINUM brace weighs in at 12 lbs, i couldnt see cutting away at the aluminum brace to save maybe one pound-
well, at the end, i have a front chrome bumper without the bumperettes or the long steel piece, and it weighs in at 26.5 lbs-
before the same bumper also without the impact struts weighed in at 33.5 lbs-
and a stock steel front bumper with the steel support weighs in at 64.5 LBS
thats almost 40 lbs off the old beast!!
26.5 vs 64.5 lbs is going to make that nose come up even higher!
