Well I had my tb off for cleaning and I noticed that there is nothing under the doghouse. I mean I can see straight into the lower intake. I was always under the impression that there is something supposed to be there. Is this right?

Yep, remove the doghouse, and you see the plenum floor, and runners.

A Power Plate (an aftermarket piece) would go there, it's a sheet of metal with some patterns cut in it to even out the air flow.
