harmonic balancer

the dude that changed my timing chain said he thinks one of the harmonic balancer bolts was loose and he didnt have a torque wrench to torque it down to spec. if one of the bolts is loose can this cause an engine vibration that feels like a miss? also can a blown HG cause a miss even if not signs of a HG are showing?

first of all there is only one bolt holding it on and yes if it is loose it will cause a miss. The crank sensor takes it s signal off 3 rings on the balancer and if it is loose the rings may not signal causing a miss. Get it fixed asap/

thanks. what is the torque spec for the harmonic balancer bolt? 160 ft lbs?

somewhere in excess of 200lb/ft. hit it with the impact

and make sure you put on some locktite too
