I am leaving for the West Coast today, to do some tuning. When I return I will put up my bio. I wasn't going to list all of my accomplishments, but now feel that I better (to prove why I was selected). Unfortunatly, that will only list the organized racing wins, not all the races I have won on the street ($$).

I will also start posting little blurbs, on every thread I read to get my post count up and prove my worth to this board.

Here's a photo taken of my car last week in street trim that Jason hosted on his website http://rjcracing.com/misc_buick_pics/Calgril/calgril.html

Cal i hope you werent refering to any of my comments,All 3 of you guys i would consider outstanding members(post count high or not)YOu all have some heavy duty accomplishment.Post count doesnt make the man.:D Otto

I say GREAT JOB Bruce, this is my favorite place to come on the net and Chill everyday. It's like going to the local hangout and BS-ing with your Buick friends :) So many people willing to help you with info to make your car run, or run faster.
My hat is off to you.
Tarey D.

Yes i must say that this place is incredible i come here everyday even though iam at work shhhh.... :D and any changes made to it would be good i mean everything has to change eventually, i have no problems with this board even when i should be a lil pissed off or not , iam still cool with everything. just happy to be a memeber and own one of the best cars ever built and to enjoy with fellow TR owners that have the same attitude i have its great, thanks everybody i like the whole outstanding memebers thing maybe it should be changed like once a month or something like that. just keep up the good work

Well, dunno why my post got deleted on here or this thread got revamped but I think the new home page is pretty cool. If my deleted post somehow indicated otherwise, I apologize. Good work TB.com.

Don't feel bad my thread got moved too. not sure if it was for good or bad?.
But It got merged into this which i was not to crazy about.

Now people might get confused as to what I was trying to say.

This site is the BEST! PERIOD.

The new concept is Great about outstanding member.
I love the Jason Cramer story it had substance/content.

Throwing up numbers for a car is cool too but it would be nice
to know more about the person.

As for post count that should have no bearing. I realize some of the vendor or racers are busy & can't always post,
That was a stupid remark that cal made that he thinks he has to post. FLAME SUIT ON: I know I will get feedback on this.

That is why it would be nice to read a short story about them & others that may have some good stuff to share on how they got to where they are in buisness or in car mods.

Not nessecary bud. Your accomplishments speak for themselves regardless of your post count. Your out there kicking ass while most of the rest of us are sitting here talking about it LOL.(definatly me included:D ) Keep on keeping on man and don't worry about the guys in the cheap seats.:D :D

Yeah.......like what!?How to stick a small block chevy in my GN?Get Real! He's almost never posted anyway.

LOL Cal, your post count is fine, you only speak when it's worthy of your genious. And I am serious when I say that. Too bad Bruce still has a bad taste in his mouth from the last journey to Vegas. Would be great to come out and watch you work your magic and then stick you at the Blackjack table on second base. Well, maybe next trip or when we are down in Florida for Jesse's gig. Have a great trip, and do your bio when you can. You are a global jetsetting busy man ya know.

Mark :D :D :D

SixGun86GN,

I am not sure why you speak about Chris Chow like you know him. Chris has raced Turbo Buicks since he bought one new in 87.
He had the thing going 13.6s stock and over the years with different motor combinations got the car into the 9.1 @ 150 range at over 3500lbs. This was all with the stock suspension and a buick v-6.

He would also race this car all over the Bay Area and made a name for these cars on the street. I never saw him loose a street race even against big block nos cars.

Chris has been a great friend and mentor to me in the 3 Turbo Buicks that I have owned. He also has help countless others in the Bay Area and farther away. He is always helping people with tunning and wrenching on their cars. He was also a Rep for the BGRNA for several years. He drove his car to BG from california and raced it the drove it home. He has been on the cover of GS-Xtra.

The Buick V-6s are great motors and the GN/T Types are wonderful cars, but if you think you can compete in the same class with turbo big and small blocks you are dreaming.
Chris wanted to go class racing and already had a chassis that would get him where he wanted to go. How many v-6 stay together at 1700 plus hp??? How many points races do you want to miss waiting for a Buick Specific Part? Who has raced and won with the v-6 other that Richie Kibler in the last 4 years???

Did I mention that one of Chris's daily drivers is a T type that will do 125mph in the 1/4? Did I also mention that we are putting together a potential 9 second stock block car for some fun.

I guess with all that said you are right, Chris has done nothing with Buicks or for the Buick Community to deserve Bruce giving him some credit.

Im cool with every thing he has accomplished, But i would say put one of his V6 power cars up there and mention in the Bio about his sbc turbo car.

Thats great John...now tell Chris to bring it down to Florida and race it at the Buick Southern Nationals March 6th & 7th at Bradenton , FL in the "109 Outlaw Class" (more info in the Florida section)

I understand this fact. No,I do not know him.I do know that a chevy is not a buick.Put one of his fast buick powered buicks on there so we can actually relate to it.Leave the SBC thing to the MCSS board. That is what I am saying. His power is impressive no doubt about it.Still don't see how a car with a chevy v8 in it offers me any inspiration.Maybe we should all go with the SBC because its easier to go faster that way,is that the message you want new TB owners to receive.I come here because this place gives BUICK info, not Chevy v8 builups.I can buy car craft for that.He has a great amount of knowledge to share I am sure but it takes posting it to share it to begin with.I was mocking Bruce with his snide remark like we have to have these guys to answer us.Surprisingly these guys answer less tech questions than anyone to begin with.Save me the lecture about how we need their knowledge .You want a real TB guru, look at Bruce Plecan. That guy shares more knowledge and does more for this community tech wise than all the "gurus" put together.

YEAH LETS JUST PUT SOME WHIPPLECHARGED COBRAS AND CHEVY PICKUPS ON THE FRONT PAGE BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST AS CLOSE TO BEING A TURBO BUICK AS CHRIS CHOWS CAR.

Wow, such emotion all because the guy has a sbc in his car. Can we also ban everyone that runs anything but totally stock GM parts on their cars also? Why is it so hard to commend someone that has accomplished so much? Or may it be the ugly head of envy popping up? Mark

Mark,

I think you should ban me.
I have sinned in the following ways against Buick.

-I have purchased a Ford 9inch Rear End
-I run an Art Carr Converter that is based off of a non GM Product.... and the really scary part is that it is a non lock up
- I have a t-400 in a couple cars, not stock.
-I ran an external fuel pump
-I use -10 fuel line
-I use front mount intercoolers
-I use non stock computers
-I have a ford 90mm TB on my stage 2 motor
-I use cams bigger than 206 in production blocks sometimes even billet rollers
-I run external wastegates
-I run bigger than TE45 or 66mm turbos on my street cars
-I like turbo motors and cars that were not produced by buick.
-I have helped my friend with his 7.5 @ 189 turbo mustang

The worst sin must be the act of heresy in working with Chris Chow on his blastfamous sin against buick and the buick brothers.
The WE4 that was stolen from this world and made into the abomination of a winning race car.

Please try and forgive me!!!

I cannot believe the negative I am getting from giving some people some notoriety. I am building a page so every member can have their car and a bio linked to their screen name. It is in the works but I only get an hour or so a month to work on it.
I still cannot believe people bitching about them being vendors. It just so happens that way and I didn't even give it a second thought. I never even associated them. I just knew evrybody knew and liked these guys ( or so I thought) and it would be cool.
BTW ... So tell me, what does Chris Chow vend?
Also on every board around latelly , videos of Mr chow's car has been ther. SOOOOOO obviously...People want to see and know about him.

Shaking my head I just cannot understand what it takes to please people sometimes. Why bother spending any time on new things and money on new things to be ridiculed, harrassed and attemps to take whatever new efforts are made torn apart?

How much info has a guy like Chris Chow donating to your community? If I were him, I wouldn't tell ya nothin anymore. Learn for yourself.

Again, I tried to make something nice and commendable.
I see how well it worked

No offense to you at all Bruce, but I think you could have expected flak for the Chris Chow posting. It totally destroys the integrety of us and our Turbo V6 engines, which is why most of us are here. Seeing a V8 powered car up there is almost saying that V6's are now inferior. I am not trying to start an argument here at all because the board looks GREAT! But in your opinion, does Chow's car represent the 6 at the top of the screen? If you would like to see the feedback, go to the top of the turbo lounge at the sticky post. You can see the voting there that over half of the votes do not think Chow's car should be there. Thats a pretty strong turnout. Of course we are not paying members, and probably don't help you as much as the vendors, but by word of mouth, we promote this website as members. Without us, how do you grow? Just something to think about. Hopefully everyone one else will feel free to vote.

Scott :(
