ive got a 80 formula firebird with a 301 turbo

my problem is that, when i get on the gas it pulls hard to 3000 and then power just drops off becomes doggy and dowsnt perform.

not this motor only has 50, 000 origional miles.

the car did sit for about 7 years before i got my hands on it. when i got it about a month ago it was sweet, i got awsome power(for a stocker) out of it. all the lights worked on the cowel and now i can only get 2 lights(whatever they actually mean)......

this is the first turbo car i have ever owned, ill figure it out or get my head examined and just do a small block chev for it.....

either way is like to keep it all origional.

First you need to install a vac/boost guage to see if you have any vac leaks and how much boost you are really running.
The lights show how much boost you are running.
secound light around 6 psi, third light around 9 psi.
They are not very good. A cloged cat, air fliter, muffler will lower boost.
