Head bolt torque setting

How many pounds do the head bolts need to be torqued down to ? I've got about 200 miles on my rebuild and want to retorque them. Also does anyone have any pics of the sequence. Thanks

loosen from the outside in... tighten from the inside out.

Just like pushing the wrinkles out of a sheet.

As far as specific torque specs, it depends on the exact fastener and lube used.

I'm in the process of doing this again to another engine and using ARP 12 point bolts, what should the final torque be on those ?

Nevermind found it, 80 lbs

If you're going to crack the headbolts loose, make sure to drop a couple of GM seal tabs in the cooling system. The retorque is going to compromise your threads seal on the deck.
