I have milky oil,so I am guessing I have a blown headgasket. My question is do I need to pull the engine to do the right side?Anyone have any tips/shortcuts that might save me some time?
Thanks for your advice.
You do not have to pull the motor.
I would do a couple more checks to verify the gaskets being blown. BUT...
In the long run with just hand tools and no air, it would probably be quicker to remove it and do the job. But, I have done a couple sets in the car, it is not to bad. You will need a wide assortment of ratchets and extensions. Be prepared to bust up your knuckles, and be patient. (easy to say) If you take your time, you will be rewarded with an excellent job, and save yourself over $700. Take it from me, change both sides. It is a b--ch to do the whole job, then tear it all back down for the other side. I was hardheaded, and optimistic. I.E. LAZY.
Just take you time is the best tip. All the plugs/connectors will only fit in the correct sensors. The back header bolts come out easy from under the car.
Hope this helps...

No shortcuts but ............ If it was me (knowing what i know today), I would pull the motor and check all the bearings etc. Yes, you can do it all with the engine in the car, but, there will be a lot less swearing if the motor is on a stand. JMO.
