I spent the day taking out the engine (tranny was already out) and then I removed the driver's side head. Huge gap where the 1007 fire ring used to be across the bottom. No wonder it was so noisy.
The ductile iron cam (econo roller....lol )after slightly over 1000 miles and a few street passes and 8 passes at Vegas looks perfect. Louie L. I thought you'd like to know.
And the cylinder and exhaust header looks rich so perhaps it was a little rich detonation that caused the gasket problem.
I'm trying to teach myself not to crank up the boost 10 turns at the same time....and I succeeded in Vegas ... only cranking on it in little increments. However I still have to learn when to stop cranking.
