Head Work...what to get done

My cousin is gonna be taking his heads off(stock irons)off of his T-type. we were wondering what to get done with them that would be the best for the buck. He wants to spend between $1,000 to $1,500 on the whole job. and while the heads are off what are some other suggestions to get done with the motor(cam,etc.). The car has the usual mods with a ta49, 50#'s, and a bad ass worked Tranny. We live about 15 miles from Kirban Performance and were wondering if anyone has dealt with these guy's with actuall work done to their cars?
