header panel scratches

guys, how is your front header panel? Are the scratches that i have normal? the rest of the car is in great shape, i considered removing the front header panel and taking to a shop but decided against removal. a good fellow poster suggested that it might be paintable while still on the car, what do you think? one body guy told me that it would have to be stripped and i know what a mess that can be. Any thoughts?

I'd do it on the car. Just some quick instructions. Remove headlite bezels and attaching parts, mask appropriately, wet sand the header with 220 rapped around a sponge pad, (I use scotchbrite, cut to size under the sandpaper). Then, primer the header with 2K hi build primer, sand again with 400 or 500 grit, and repaint headers. The primer fills whats left of the scratches and they are no longer visable.
