headliner help

hi , i usually ask zack to do a posting but i thought i should finally give it a try . we are replacing his headliner cloth and i notice the glue and foam from the old headliner is not all the way in the coat hook pockets . also it seems that you probably couldn't get the new headliner in that deep without some wrinkles . does anyone know or can anyone check to see if there's doesn't go all the way in . also does anyone have a suggestion for a good plastic interior trim epoxy (have one typ. screw area broken) . thanks for any help and i am going to try joining in more often . remedy for the foam and glue on the headliner was a light scuff by hand with 100 grit (removed the dried up foam) and wash and hose with purple power , it came perfectly clean with little labor.

I just did mine last weekend. I covered over the coat hook holes and used an xacto knife to cut the hole later. When you install it, the coat hook part will hold everything in place nicely w/o wrinkles. I wrapped the headliner around the board by 1-2 inches all the way around. Do you remember which way the rear metal trim plastic trim clips face? Flat part towards the front or back? I can't remember which way they go.

I didn't take it apart ,zack did and I will have him get back to you , we have a t-top car and the coat hook area is recessed an inch or so deep , the hook will hold it but I was questioning weather the cloth would go all the way in without wrinkling in the corners and on the flats . I guess either way it needs to get done so I will move ahead. I am going to use the wrap around idea ( being a neat freak I would probably have cut it flush) it sounds right ,thank you
